This episode features a joint presentation from Professor Divine Charura and Dr Colin Lago on their recent book: Black Identities and White Therapies: Race, Respect, and Diversity, which was published by PCCS books in 2021. Divine is a chartered psychologist, professor of counselling psychology and programme director for the doctorate in counselling psychology at York St John University. He has co-authored and edited numerous books, including “Love and Therapy” and “The Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy Handbook”. Colin is a psychotherapist, trainer, supervisor and consultant, and a Fellow of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. He has published numerous articles, videos and books on transcultural concerns and psychotherapy. His books include Race, Culture and Counselling, The Handbook of Transcultural Counselling and Psychotherapy, and The Person Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy Handbook. The session will provide an introduction to the key ideas from their book and their relevance for therapeutic practice.
